Julie, the owner, lives above the Nursery with her three daughters, one of which attends the Nursery. For a number of years Julie had had a burning ambition to open a children’s nursery and provide parents with a higher level of nursery care. Since entering the education environment some years ago Julie soon made her mark in the teaching world and was recognised for her hard work and commitment towards her students.

After her initial teaching placements in a mixed array of primary schools and on completion of her PGCE she soon began teaching 14-18 year old students at Bolton college to gain experience and knowledge of the industry. Shortly afterwards Julie was offered a more senior position at Holy Cross College in Bury and soon became head of department in the Business Studies sector and Health and Social care. She has successfully managed her team now for over 7 years.

Julie has had some of her educational work published and more recent publications have been for ‘Britannic street’ a documentary for schools that was an initiative to help children of school age understand concepts such as budgeting and managing money, this was done as freelance agreement.

Julie has also carried consultancy projects in the Middle East, this involved organising training sessions for staff to explain and demonstrate how to ‘manage change’ in the education sector. Other recognitions have to pilot Bury Holy Cross sixth form College in the implementation of change in the GNVQ/AVCE exams of which has set a precedent around the Country.

Julie says:

“As a parent you want a high standard of care for your child, you need to feel comfortable that they can learn and develop in a safe and caring environment with the support of mature and highly trained staff, this was our primary objective in setting up the business.”

Hopefully we are achieving this at Eagley School House Nursery in fact we feel so confident that we can offer the very best of care for your child we have an “open door” policy and have the added benefit of “web Cams” to monitor you child throughout the day.

Julie is continuing to embark on new intiatives and is in the process of reading Leadership In Early Years for her Masters Degree. She feels so passionate in childcare and improving outcomes for children that she is an associate tutor for Edgehill University supporting students who also want to teach in early years settings of schools.
